“True Colors”
ART HOP RECEPTION-October 5, 2007 from 5pm-9pm.
This is a body of work that has been inspired by a Michigan autumn. Having grown up in Michigan, I have always enjoyed watching the trees turn back to their true colors. All of the pieces are recycled bits of steel. The body of the tree is welded on and the copper tops are put on last. I attach the copper using a technique that I developed myself. I think that they are very unique and I hope that you enjoy them.
Carrie is a Kalamazoo native. She works as RN and teaches metalworking classes at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. She is the mother of four amazing people. She lives in the woods with her dog, Milo, who has an opinion about everything.
